Resource Overview

FlipZone is a comprehensive, hands-on training program. It combines computer-based instruction, peer mentoring, and classroom facilitation. It was designed by seasoned experts for established, small businesses looking to expand. Its pragmatic approach consists of nine interactive modules that walk entrepreneurs through the business life cycle, from planning through execution. Each participating entrepreneur will successfully build a customized 1-3 year roadmap for evolving their business.

FlipZone uses the Flip Classroom Model where the typical lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed. Short video lectures are viewed by students at home before the class session, while in-class time is devoted to exercises, projects, and discussions.

The FlipZone program is spread over 20 weeks with a new module every two weeks. During the first week, participating companies will receive online video instruction and homework. During the second week, they will meet with other non-competing companies for peer mentoring, decision making, and strategic planning.
